From this
to this in just a few easy steps!
When I first saw this apple pealer, corer, slicer from Pampered Chef,
what was it 20 years ago???!!!,
I had to have it. I just love this tool even after all of these years.
Look what it did to this apple. Just beautiful!
And all that's left is this bitty core.
Now if it were my son, Ryan, he'd still eat that down to nothing!
I just cut the peeled, cored and sliced apple into quarters.
Add sugars and spices.
Put your apple scraps into a sauce pan with a bit of water.
Put the heat on low to create an aroma throughout your home.
(Watch that the water doesn't evaporate the pan dry.
Dump in trash when the evening is over.)
Spread sweetened apples in baking dish.
Top with a crumbly crust and bake.
I waited all afternoon for my kids to come home and say,
"Oh, what smells so good?!"
I almost missed it because I was out in the garage switching laundry when my daughter came home. I quickly followed her it to hear her say just that.
It made my day!
Next time I will add berries to the apple mixture.
